バッチスキャンとは、複数のスキャンを自動的に連続して実行することです。フラッ トベッドスキャナーを利用して複数の写真、スライド、またはフィルムストリップを取り込み、バッチスキャン機能を使って一括でデジタル化することができます。
人間の知覚は輪郭や線を認識するようにできているため、シャープな画像はより鮮明に見えるのです。このアンシャープマスクの原理は、画像のデジタル処理にも応用できます。
画像を正しくシャープにするためには、使用する解像度を考慮する必要があります。スキャン解像度が異なると、個別のシャープニングパラメータが必要になります。
SilverFast アンシャープマスキングUSMは、輝度値をベースに計算することで、画像の彩度や階調値を損なうことなく画像のシャープネスを向上させる事を可能にした、高性能なツールです。
SilverFastソフトウェアでシャープネスを簡単に：シャープネスを開始する前に、まずは求める解像度を設定します。USMツールダイアログを開いて、オートシャープネス機能が自動的にパラメータを選択します。このプロセスは、基本的なシャープネス効果を画像に反映させます。ほとんどの場合、シャープネスの効果は十分に最適化されていると考えられます。シャープネス効果にまだ満足していない場合は、手動で微調整を行うこともできます。
左のモノクロ画像は少しぼやけている印象。右のモノクロ画像はSilverFast USMで処理され、よりシャープな印象に。より画像の細部まで確認することができます。
High-Quality preview lets me see the entire scan at full resolution and is invaluable for close edits. Being able to zoom in at 1:1 and fine-tune different variables makes the effects of tools like USM or iSRD far easier to control.
SilverFast also features Unsharp Masking. The software uses different parameters such as brightness values for the sharpening. This way, the original colors are not negatively affected.
The SilverFast preview is ideal. All manipulations are shown almost in real-time depending on the computational complexity and hardware equipment. It is also possible to directly examine the result of some extensive features such as Unsharp Masking or the infrared dust and scratch removal tool iSRD. Using the 100% preview every little change is visible.
通常のシャープネス機能は、細部のコントラストを全般的に高めるため、原稿から生じるあらゆる画像の歪みを増幅してしまうことが多くなります。画像は非常にいびつになり、不自然に見えます。 一方、SilverFast USMは、ディテールを失うことなく、エッジやラインのコントラストを慎重に高めていきます。SilverFastスキャナソフトウェアには、高度な自動シャープネス機能（5段階で調整可能）があり、ほとんどのスキャンで良好な結果をもたらします。使用するスキャナ、出力解像度、希望するシャープネスの度合いの関数を用いて、SilverFast USM は鮮明な画像を生成します。
Select a preset for image sharpening from the drop-down menu “Preset”. Use the “Power”slider to increase or decrease the sharpening effect, if you are not entirely satisfied with the effect of the USM automatic.
Moving the “Power” slider, you can increase or decrease the sharpness effect. The “Radius” slider defines the size of the area around found lines and edges that will be sharpened. The further you move the “Threshold” slider to the right, the smaller are the contrast differences, which are taken into account for sharpening.
SilverFast SE Plus に搭載されているスライダーコントロールに加え、Ai Studioのエキスパートモードにはさらに多くの設定オプションがあります。例えば、明るいエッジと暗いエッジに対して異なるシャープネス効果を設定したり、影をぼかしたりすることができます。
